LET'S GET YOU STARTED
HELPFUL TIPS FOR THE FIRST CLASS
01
/ YOUR ARRIVAL
Please make sure to arrive at the studio 15-20 minutes prior to your first ballroom dance class, allowing your child to get familiar with the new atmosphere. Make sure your child’s outfit is appropriate for the dance activity: it must be stretchy allowing him or her to move easy, it must be fitted, and all the body lines must be visible. For your first class the child can wear any flexible slip-ons, socks, jazz shoes but no tennis shoes. For future participation in all the classes, OC Dancing studio requires you to wear ballroom shoes. Ballroom shoes are very flexible with the thin, suede sole. This allows the shoes to glide on the dance floor, with just the right amount of grip.
The OC Dancing teacher will be asking you to fill out a Registration Form and sign it for any liability issues. If you feel more comfortable to do this procedure at home, please download our Registration Form below.
You are welcome to stay and watch your child during their ballroom dance lesson.
02
/ YOUR LESSON
The first dance class for your kid at OC Dancing is fun and fundamental. It is a great way for your child to taste "the ballroom dancing" and meet his or her teacher. He or she will evaluate your child's abilities, recommend the best way of learning, and suggest the appropriate level of ballroom dance classes that they should enroll in. Basic steps of cha cha and waltz will be introduced to your child at their first class.
/ AFTER THE LESSON
03
Allow yourself to stay 15 min after the class to discuss the schedule, programs, and the cost. The combination of private lessons and groups are usually the best option for any beginner student. Check our special rates and Packages for Newcomers.
